Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class – Ms. Healy

Ms. Healy

Junior and Senior Infants

There are 13 wonderful children in our classroom, 5 in Junior Infants and 8 in Senior Infants.

We work really hard in our classroom learning all our letter sounds and new words. We sing lots of songs both in English and Irish and also enjoy learning lots of poems and nursery rhymes. We love reading in our infant room and enjoy lots of different books from the library. We are enjoying reading stories about Autumn at the minute!

One of our favourite things is doing Aistear in our room every morning. We learn all about different themes through our play. We have already been learning about school, the Doctors and Halloween. At the moment we are learning all about Space.

There are lots of budding scientists in our room and we always have great fun during Science Week in November. We will get to do lots of different science experiments. We really like making predictions and seeing which ones will be right.

We love doing PE in our class. Since September we have been learning lots of different games that we can play during lunch time. We have also been taking part in Rinka with Katie. We love learning new ways to move and make shapes with our bodies as well as learning different dances.

we have also started Hurling with Paddy Corkery! He has taught us lots of hurling skills and games! We have future Cork stars on our hands here in Rylane!

All the girls and boys in Juniors, Seniors and First Class had a lovely first morning back to school in Ms Healy’s classroom. It was great fun to see everyone again after the Summer holidays.
