General Information

Rylane National School is a Catholic primary school under the patronage of the Bishop of Cloyne.

 

School Hours 

School begins at 9.00 a.m. with Junior and Senior Infants finishing at 1.40 p.m. First Class – Sixth Class finish at 2.40 p.m. There is yard supervision in the morning between 8.50 a.m. to 9.00 a.m.

Small break is from 11.00 a.m. -11.10 a.m. Lunch is from 12.40 p.m. to 1.10 p.m.

 

School Uniform

Boys wear a;

  • wine v-neck jumper
  • grey shirt
  • wine and grey striped tie
  • grey trousers
  • suitable school shoes

Girls wear a:

  • wine cardigan or v-neck jumper
  • Grey shirt and grey pinafore or grey trousers
  • wine and grey striped tie
  • suitable school shoes

On PE days and sports days, children wear a;

  • wine-coloured tracksuit
  • yellow t-shirt
  • runners

Entry to the School

Children can enter the school in the morning through the main front gate or the side gate. All children to exit the school through the main front gate. Anyone arriving late or needing assistance throughout the day should enter through the main front gate and use the door buzzer where Danielle, our secretary will kindly assist you.

 

Pupils Leaving School Early

Parents/guardians calling during the day to take pupils home early for any reason must report to the secretary and record the reason for taking pupils out early. This can also be inputted on our Aladdin Communication System.

 

Absences

If a child is absent from school for any reason, a note of explanation should be given to the class teacher or recorded in the child’s school journal. This can also be inputted on our Aladdin Communication System. If a child is absent for a total of 20 days or more during the school year, the school is obliged to notify the National Education Welfare Board. Enrolment

Enrolment forms are now available at the school or can be downloaded here Enrolment Form Rylane National School or in the Parent’s Section of this website. It can be completed and returned to the school and accompanied with the child’ birth certificate.

 

School Communication 

The school uses the email rylanens3parents@gmail.com to make communication with parents. The school uses Aladdin Connect for parents to make contact with Teachers. We may use texaparent in cases of emergency.
